In her career as an animator, Angie Taylor has developed some powerful techniques for creating quick but compelling 2D animation, and in this workshop she shares those secrets with you. You’ll learn how to import layered files and paths from Illustrator into After Effects and how to animate flat vector artwork in both 2D and 3D space, and you’ll explore options for outputting your animations. The videos are short, focused, and solution-oriented, and all the project files are included so you can follow along as you go.

Kinetic typography is an art form that combines text and motion to express ideas in the form of animation designed to accompany spoken word or music. In this unique workshop, art director, author, and motion graphic designer Angie Taylor shares her considerable knowledge of this form. You’ll work along with her as she builds a complete kinetic typography project from start to finish. Along the way you’ll learn how to create and animate text layers directly within After Effects using animators and 3D features, set up Photoshop files for animating in After Effects, and use a variety of effects and techniques to create numerous text animation styles within a single project. You’ll also get lots of tips and tricks for animating 3D cameras and lights and learn how to use expressions and scripts to simplify the processes involved.

Analyze and Optimize the Color in Your Video
Color correction is one of those sets of skills many editors put off for another day — partly because they can make do with simple adjustments, and partly because many of the controls and options are a little alien. In this course, master editor Maxim Jago demystifies color correction and gives detailed explanations of the key controls, options, workflows, and best practices for color correction with Premiere Pro. After being introduced to the standard tools for measuring color and light, you’ll learn about the Fast Color Corrector, the Three-Way Color Corrector, and other color correction effects. You’ll also learn how to fix and match color with presets, as well as how to use After Effects and third-party plug-ins to do the few things that Premiere Pro can’t do. After competing this workshop you’ll have all the skills you need to “fix it in post.”

Creature and Environment Rendering. Digital Rendering Techniques with Nick Pugh. This demo Shows the Digital techniques Nick uses to render a Creature in an environment. The creature was previously created in the "Originality in Design" DVD. The lecture stresses the importance of maintaining the design language established in the first phase, while fully realizing the surrounding environment. Over the course of this demo, Nick discusses topics such as the use of channels, layers, rendering foliage, water reflections, creating depth and soft foggy lighting. All of the work is done in Adobe Photoshop
